Alys Williams is an artist / scenographer who creates installation, sculpture, video and collage.

Using multimedia and time-based disciplines, she investigates the convergence of performance, object, text and image and questions the duality of a present or absent human subject.  Her work draws from autobiographical references with particular concern for the relationship of architecture on the narratives that arise from this. She explores the poetic qualities of the city, domestic spaces and objects whilst interogating the interplay between moving image and memory.

Alys' work has been exhibited international at venues including the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), London; The Jerwood Space, London; Shunt Vaults, London; UMAM D&R, Beirut (Lebanon); Art Container, Talinn (Estonia) and PULSE Miami. In 2010, she founded the artist-run contemporary art space VITRINE GALLERY (London), for which she now directs and curates an ongoing programme of contemporary art exhibitions and events.

Concurrent to this practice, Alys designs sets and is prop stylist for fashion photography, film (editorial and advertising) and still-life.
